The logic was simple: All homemade foods taste better than store bought. (Take any example, bread, root beer, brownies.) Peanut butter tastes amazing. Make homemade peanut butter and it will taste even more amazing.
The question: what does even more amazing taste like?
Melanie's plan: Make homemade peanut butter and find out.
The Answer: Indescribably fantastic, especially with chocolate while watching UP.
How it all worked out:
All the necessary ingredients. |
First, we ( Melanie, Erin, Matt, Jon, and a half dozen girls from Melanie's hall) needed dry peanuts.(A decidedly basic ingredient for our experiment.) To get them I borrowed the Hamson vehicle, and drove with Matt and Jon to nearby Wal-mart(because it was the nearest grocery type store I knew how to navigate to). While there we had many a couple interesting events, like discovering the strangeness of Utah because they don't have flip flops in the fall, and buying caffeinated drinks because BYU is crazy and doesn't have them for writing papers late at night.
Next, we got back and spent a couple minutes trying to find a place where we could all meet, after 10 on a weekend, that there wasn't a ton of people around. Turns out the best place is to reserve a "Study" room in the Canon Center. They have plenty of light, outlet switches, tables, chairs, and vacuums, for when you carefully spread peanuts all around the floor and then wheel over them in the rolling chairs.
The method: carefully measure peanuts and vegetable oil and blend away! Note: be careful not to add to many peanuts all at once or the baby blender might over heat and stop working on you. Then carefully add brown sugar to taste. Once throughly blended dip in pieces of chocolate, bagel, bread, cracker, finger, or whatever else comes to hand. Consume rapidly! Note: adding Dr. Pepper does not improve taste, therefore they are best taken separately.
You also may want to play an awesome movie. For example, UP qualifies for this category. Music and cell phones also add to the evening.
